Throughout the past years, I have been regularly working on Rail related projects. I have been helping different agencies and clients to imagine, conceptualize and implement new generations of customer-centred services.
From complex procurement strategies for a new UK train line to cooperating with Chinese design and engineering teams on their new night train fleet — including several 2-week stays at the design centre in China.
Most recently I helped the design team at Tangerine to reimagine Train travel for their client.
Facing the global climate crisis, long-distance train travel is gaining track again. Aiming to replace or at least offer an alternative to short-haul flights the aim is to offer a superior customer experience in order to win over new clientele.
Inspired by the aviation industry, where seat solutions are designed to cater for the best customer experience possible, the team set out to develop completely new solutions for 2nd, 1st and potential premium class.
During several interviews and workshops with a number of European train companies, we tested our approach and concept against existing user and business needs, to ensure the best possible outcome at this stage.
Functional prototypes of all three seat solutions were presented at the InnoTrans 2022 in Hamburg.
